Promotional SMS pricing, explained

What does "Lifetime Validity" mean for Promotional SMS credit?

Effective 1st September 2026, SMS credit purchased on any Promotional route pack no longer expires after a fixed 1-year or 3-year period. Your unused balance stays valid for as long as your account remains active, with no forced renewal or credit forfeiture.

I purchased a pack before 1st September 2026 — does Lifetime Validity apply to my existing balance too?

Yes. Lifetime Validity applies to Promotional SMS credit balances from 1st September 2026 onward, including unused credit carried over from packs bought earlier under the previous 1-year or 3-year validity terms.

What is the delivery window for Promotional SMS?

Under TRAI's TCCCPR 2025 Amendment, Promotional SMS can only be delivered between 10 AM and 9 PM IST. Messages submitted outside this window are queued or rejected with DLT Error 651.

Does Promotional SMS work on DND (Do Not Disturb) numbers?

No. Promotional SMS is blocked on DND-registered numbers by default. If you need to reach DND numbers with marketing content, you need Digital Consent Acquisition (DCA) recorded for that number, or you should use the Transactional (Service Implicit) route for non-marketing updates.

What happened to Service Explicit SMS?

Service Explicit is no longer a standalone DLT category. TRAI discontinued fresh Service Explicit registrations and auto-migrated existing templates into Promotional, so Service Explicit content now follows Promotional's delivery-window and DND rules.

What is the DLT scrubbing charge shown in the pricing?

A statutory DLT scrubbing charge of ₹0.025 per SMS is included in all bundle prices, as mandated under TRAI's DLT framework. This is an industry-wide regulatory charge, not an SMSGatewayHub markup.

Do I need DLT registration before sending Promotional SMS?

Yes. TRAI requires every business to register its entity, sender headers (with the mandatory "-P" suffix for Promotional), and message templates on the DLT platform before sending Promotional SMS. Our team assists with DLT registration end-to-end.

Is GST included in the listed price?

The per-SMS rate and base Amount are shown exclusive of GST. The adjacent figure marked "Inclusive 18% GST" is the final amount you pay.

Can I upgrade to a higher volume pack later?

Yes, you can purchase any higher pack at any time. New credit is simply added to your account and, from 1st September 2026, carries the same Lifetime Validity as the rest of your balance.

  • Ideal For: Marketing and promotional campaigns — offers, discounts, and brand communication to opted-in customers.
  • Delivery is restricted to 10 AM–9 PM IST and blocked on DND-registered numbers, as mandated by TRAI's TCCCPR 2025 Amendment.
  • Sender header must carry the mandatory "-P" suffix for Promotional templates on DLT.
  • Print the undertaking on company letterhead and send a duly signed scanned copy to support@smsgatewayhub.com, mentioning your username and the category under which you want to send Promotional SMS.
  • Once your document is received and approved, the Promotional SMS menu will appear in your control panel.
  • Under 4-second delivery on live numbers, within the permitted window.
  • Your own 6-digit alphabetical Sender ID, e.g. LM-WEBSMS.
  • Template approval: 70% fixed and 30% variable – refer the sample templates.
  • Payment will be 100% advance.
  • GST @ 18% is mandatory on all packages.
  • Do email us the payment details with transaction ID at support@smsgatewayhub.com.
  • 1 SMS (160 characters) = 1 credit only.
  • Setup fee of ₹10,000 (refundable deposit) applies for Open Templates.
  • Any changes in rules and regulations by TRAI or the Operator will be applicable with effect from the date of communication.
